Welcome!
Functional Medicine is quickly becoming a popular route of education and practice. Functional Medicine is a systems-based approach that focuses on identifying the underlying root cause of disease rather than masking the disease symptoms. With Functional Medicine Nutrition we can support clients in treatment of the whole person, while using food as medicine.
I have a Graduate Degree in Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine as well as an Undergraduate Degree in Social Work. In addition to my professional knowledge, I have grown up in the field of exercise and sports, ski racing competitively throughout my childhood and being able to continue my ski career through to college. Having been an athlete for so long, I am also passionate about a balanced lifestyle and note how diet culture can take hold to increase negative self-talk. Utilizing personal nutritional plans that are realistic and attainable for clients can be supportive in reaching goals, while staying true to yourself.
Personally, I love being outside, whether it is on the beach in the summer, or on the mountain in the winter. Otherwise, you can find me reading and hanging out with my golden retriever, Tenney.
